Ten indigent Nigerians benefit from Natures Gentle Touch empowerment scholarship.
Premium hair care brand, Natures Gentle Touch has gone a step further in exercising its corporate social responsibility to the Nigerian society by awarding Ten Scholarships to indigent citizens. The scholarship is aimed at empowering these individuals with lasting knowledge and practical skills that will help them to establish themselves independently and also be in the position to influence those around them. Each recipient will receive a free 9-months training in hair designing and artistry at the prestigious. Natures Gentle Touch Hair Institute and during the period, they will be exposed to the huge potentials of a hair stylist in the beauty, fashion and entertainment industry as well as assisted with connections to help them settle in after the program.
Commenting on the reason where the brand decided to reach out to Nigerians, the Managing Director of Recare Limited, brand owners of Natures Gentle Touch hinted that the empowerment scholarship is in line with their corporate mission to impact the citizenry with knowledge that will help them make informed decisions and achieve independency whether financial or otherwise. “We have a very big opportunity to be the best that we can, but in a society where you have a larger percentage of the citizenry lacking in one form of vocational skill or the other that
will assist them in achieving financial independency, it becomes difficult to curb unemployment. When we noticed it in our corporate activities, we decided to establish a world-class institute that will provide professional training to an industry that has a whole lot of potentials, and we know that by the time these recipients graduate from this training, ten professional stylists with potentials to become the best in the world would have been produced. We are glad to offer this scholarship as our contribution towards the development of our society, and we have plans to institute this scholarship so that it will be continuous and a whole lot of people can benefit.”
Some of the recipients thanked Natures Gentle Touch for giving them an opportunity to live their and promised to make the best out of this training that they will receive. Ashake Goodluck, one of the recipients said that the scholarship to him is like a dream come true. He said that during their tour of the Natures Gentle Touch Hair Institute’s facilities, he realized that a whole world of opportunities have been opened to him. He hoped that upon graduation he will become more then a stylist, delving into other parts of the profession like beauty columnist and
platform artistry.
